MERITAGE RESERVE 2021
An equal blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, aged for 17 months in French and American oak. Beautiful aromas of cherry, blueberry jam and raspberry meet rich notes of forest floor, toasted oak and vanilla bean. The aromas carry to the palate with rich nuances of vanilla and oak.
Beef prime rib, mushroom risotto, garlic and rosemary lamb chops, charcuterie.
Beyond excited about this Meritage! The fruit that came in from the vineyard was just stunning – they were fermented and aged seperately (one in French oak the other in American). After some blending trials the balance was achieved. Such a fantastic aromatic profile and it carries to the palate, lots of red fruit, hints of forest and oak .. ‘chef’s kiss’ the acidity is well balanced with strucutred tannin. Only 49 cases produced!
