A chameleon grape that is highly adaptable to manipulation in the vineyard and diversity in winemaking, it is capable of producing a wide range of wine styles. Vidal (VEE-dal)possibly the best of the white French – American hybrid grape varieties, an Ugni blanc and Seibel 4986 hybrid variety. Excellent winemaking and viticulture properties, this thick skinned grape variety is very cold tolerant and is late ripening. A range of wine styles can be produced with this grape dry to sweet table wines, dessert and icewine. Riesling Originating in Germany this noble white grape variety is capable of producing a variety of extraordinary wine styles. The hardy frost resistant vine makes Riesling ideal to grow in cool vineyards. Known to have a natural high acid, it can produce long lived wines of intense aroma and character ranging from bone dry to lusciously sweet. These three varieties work very well together- The Riesling was quite floral, sweet aromas with that crisp acidity. Vidal is very nice and mellow in this, orchard based profile, crisp acidity easy drinking and the chardonnay was lightly oaked – adds a softness to the blend and really round the wine. Super easy drinking and food friendly.
