Additional Info:
Seyval (Say-Val) is a Seyve-Villard hybrid of complex V. vinifera, V. rupestris, and V.aestivalis var. lincecumii parentage. A cold hardy variety that is tolerant to many soil types and yields a mildly fruity white wine with common flavours of floral, citrus, apricot, and plum. Seyval is a high yielding grape variety and often used in blends.
Winemaker’s Notes:
One of our oldest varieties planted! Seyval is a powerhouse vine, very cold tolerant not picky on soil and can yield high! Its a great blending variety but shows really nice on it’s own. I often find it shows floral with the stone fruit / citrus vibes complimenting it. I tend to produce single varietal Seyvals as easy drinking wines, crowd pleasers and food friendly.
